A Day in the Life

My weekdays usually start about the same way: I wake up between 8:00-8:30 and try to get into the shower before my two roommates, but I usually fail and end up at the end of the line. The group usually all walks to school together and we often stop at a cafe on the way to have a coffee and croissant for breakfast. The cafe’s here are fantastic, as are the croissants and, obviously, the coffee. Italian Language class begins at 9AM and goes until noon, with a 15 minute break usually at 10:30. I personally love the language class, because my professor, Stefano, focuses more on making sure we’re able to have conversation than whether we’re able to answer questions in the book. After class we usually have an hour or so to do whatever we want before we go on whatever adventure our other professor, Alessio, has planned for the day. It’s usually a combination of a museum trip, aperitivo, and dinner, followed by some begrudging homework and a trip to a bar. And while nothing sounds particularly exciting on paper, the very fact that I get to do all of these things in ITALY of all places just makes it seem like I’m having the time of my life.
