Life hasn’t been too hectic which is nice, but I’m a man of routine so I inadvertently do stuff to keep it that way. I eat the same breakfast every morning (breakfast wrap), and probably cycle through like 7 different lunch and dinner recipes. I would cook more than I currently do, but having to restock an entire kitchen would’ve been so expensive in the beginning so I just tried to narrow my cookbook down to a few core essential recipes. I don’t know why, but aren’t routine’s just so comfortable and so easy to fall into?
I feel like on a study abroad it’s so much harder to have a ‘typical day’ because you’re always trying to go out and do different things to make the most out of your time in that country. Given that, I still do fall into routine sometimes. I’m really fortunate in that my lectures only happen at the beginning of the week, so on those days, I’m pretty relaxed. I go to class, I come home, maybe see some friends for a bit but otherwise don’t get up to much. On days when I don’t have class, such as the weekends, I try to get up early so that I don’t waste my day, and head to the gym to get some exercise. After that I’ll usually go into the city and hang out in a park, check out a museum, or get some food. The nightlife in Europe is a lot of fun too. I try to go out and see London in the evening at least once a week. The city is so big that you’re never at a loss for things to do, which has made my time here so much fun!
