New Friends and Exciting Adventures

Right now, I am staying at a hotel in Tokyo called Sakura Hotel. There are 5 people in my room including me. The rooms are fairly small, but because of this I have been able to get closer with my roommates. I did not know any of the other people in my group before this trip. However, rooming in a small room together has definitely helped us all bond. The bathroom and showers are shared by a whole floor, but there are clean and surprisingly well maintained. It has not been inconvenient at all because of how well maintained everything is. We get room service every day and they give a new face towel and robe. The best part of the hotel has been the café on the first floor. The food in the café is very good and only costs around 5-6 bucks. This whole experience has been great so far. The group we have here has not been “cliquey” as stated by one of the TA’s. It has been really easy meeting and talking to all the kids in our group. Everyone is very respectful and willing to hang out with one another. I have literally introduced myself to everyone in the group. The Meiji students have also been very accommodating and colloquial. With so many new friends, I am excited to explore Japan together with them.
