While studying in Greece, we are staying in hotels. The hotels are very nice, but the downside is that getting WiFi is extremely difficult. We do not have internet access in the rooms, and even in the lobbies it is very slow if it even works at all. We stayed at the Astor Hotel in Athens and have transferred to the Alexia Hotel in Rhodes. The second hotel had assigned different roommates, which is great for getting to know other students on the trip even better. The hotels are in great and safe locations. Our professor showed us around the areas when we arrived so that we know directions to get back at anytime. It is also fun to meet other travelers in the hotels and to hear about there stories and cultures.

For the most part, it has been easy to meet the other people on the dialogue. Everyone has a passion for learning about Greek culture and history. We all seem to be stunned by the scenery, especially here on the island of Rhodes, and by how different life is for the Greeks in comparison to us. It has been slightly more difficult to make friends with people that already knew each other well before the program because they tend to do their own thing. This only makes me happier that I came in without knowing anybody because it enabled me to open myself up completely to meeting people and trying new things. Overall, there is a great group of people on the trip and I am loving getting to experience all that Greece has to offer with each and every one of them. I can’t wait to explore the rest of the country with them and Professor Katula.
