Should’ve Known
The one thing that I didn’t think about before I came to Denmark was my phone; it never occurred to me that I would need to get a different data plan and carrier. However, this problem became very obvious to me during my first week when I didn’t have any data on my phone. I relied on wifi, which was more difficult than I imagined. Soon I fixed that problem, and I went to the local 7 Eleven to buy a SIM card for about $7. With the Danish SIM card, I was able to access data and calls while keeping my normal phone. The data plans were not that expensive, and I only pay about $4 for 1 GB a month.
At my room in Tingbjerg Kollegiet, I have my laptop connected to the internet via Ethernet cable. There is also wifi on my floor’s shared kitchen. Unfortunately there are no printers here, but that’s ok because there are obviously ones in DTU’s library. The campus also has wifi and many computer labs.
