Studying Routine
DTU’s class schedule is incredibly different from Northeastern’s; each class I have only meets once a week. On Monday, I go to my embedded system class from 1:00 to 5:00. The lecture itself is usually 1-2 hours, and the rest of the time is used to do work. Since I’m working on a project with a startup in that class, my team usually meets with the company that day too. On Tuesdays, I go to a machine learning class that’s also 1:00 – 5:00. Similarly, the lecture is 1-2 hours, and we spend the rest of the time working. The class is split up into small 3-4 people groups to work on the exercises and projects. After the lecture is over, I go to a different building with TA’s to work on the day’s exercises. On Wednesday, I have a digital signal processing class all day. It starts at 8:30, and the professor lectures for over an hour. Once he leaves, we can work on the exercise for the day. We usually take a break for lunch around 12:00 to 1:00. At 1:00, the TA comes and we finish working on the exercise until about 5:00.
The rest of the days I have time to work and study the material from my classes. The 4 days off seems like a long time, but it’s really not on the weeks where there is a lot of work. I usually spend some of those days meeting up with groups to work on projects. When I don’t have to do schoolwork, I’ll bike into Copenhagen and walk around and explore the city. Other times I’ll meet friends for lunch there. However, now that the weather is much colder and classes are coming to their end, I’ve been spending more time focused on school instead of going into the city.
