The London Tube
Getting to class in London is fairly easy. Being that my flat is situated directly next to the Waterloo bridge, walking to the LSE takes about fifteen minutes — twenty tops. The distance to Westminster Palace is also comparable, and the view never ceases to amaze me.
Walking is also extremely cost-effective mainly attributed to the (in my opinion inflated) cost of the tube. A one way underground fare can cost anywhere from £2.40 to £6.00, which means if you’re not the walking type be sure to pack some serious dough.
Criticisms aside, the tube is a great way to get around the city. The line’s are fairly easy to comprehend and the trains themselves move quickly from station to station. Sometimes the rides are a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of air-conditioning and high-pitch screeching of the tracks, but if you’re okay with sweat and tinnitus you should be fine.
I’m still having a great time in London, and the walking is surely adding to that experience. ☺
