I can’t believe I am off to Scotland in less than a week! I have wanted to study abroad since I entered college, and this dialogue was the first opportunity that felt like there was somewhere I wanted to go which would also give me credit for courses in my major. As someone who has never really been abroad, I hope travelling to a foreign country with a group of people who I have yet to get to know will help me become more cultured and grateful. My goal is to take in everything Edinburgh has to offer and get a new perspective on life while gaining a better understanding and appreciation for the country and it’s people. I also hope the courses I am taking will help further develop my analytical skills.

Since I don’t really know what to expect, I have no fears or apprehensions, just a lot of excitement for what I will get to experience. The scariest thing for me about going abroad is the language barrier, but I won’t be having to worry about that just yet. I am most looking forward to seeing how different the European culture is from American culture, meeting people and making friends there, and building a strong connection with the group of students I will be going there with.
