Typical Day

I usually wake up around 8:15 in the morning on the weekdays since class starts at 9. Me and my roommates all walk over to a conference room in a hotel where class is held. The first class is from 9 to 11 and then we have a lunch break. For lunch, I usually either go to a cafe nearby or eat something back at the apartment and take a nap. Our second class is from 1:30 to 3:30 and then we’re free for the rest of the day. Since we have papers due twice a week, there is always homework to be done. On Tuesday nights, my entire group has potluck dinners with our professors which are really nice and on Thursday, we go out for group dinners!! Me and my roommates usually go on runs after our afternoon class and go walk around the city.

My program while on this DOC is Field Study of Economic Integration. My biggest study abroad goal is just to become culturally aware of how different everything is in Scotland. I hope to learn lots about the traditions and customs of the locals and just to see how their way of life is. This opportunity is more than just the classroom experience, it is something that I hope will shape me into a more aware and open-minded individual. I chose to study abroad to push myself out of my comfort zone. I live relatively close to Northeastern so I have never really had to adapt to a new environment when I came to college. This experience will hopefully give me the responsibility of adjusting to a new location graphically and culturally.
