As a combined Spanish and International Affairs major, studying abroad in Spain seemed like an obvious way to immerse myself in the Spanish language and get a first-hand experience in a foreign culture. My main goals for the semester are: achieving conversational fluency, establishing a meaningful relationship with my host family, and finding my comfort zone in Granada. I'm hoping to follow up this semester abroad with a coop abroad in Latin America so that I can have a full year of Spanish immersion, but still have the chance to experience different cultures and dialects of the language.
