End of Week 1: Housing and Classmates
For my time in London, I reside in Conway Hall owned by the University of Notre Dame and it is located in the center of the city, in the London neighborhood of Southbank near the River Thames. I live in a apartment (or as the British call it, a flat) with all of my fellow 8 Hansard Scholars and we shared a living room, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. The flat consists of three double bedrooms, one bedroom, and one triple bedroom; I live in a double with my roommate who is also a Scholar. The flat is very spacious and our residence is less than a mile away from London School of Economics where we go to class and less than a mile away from British Parliament where we intern.
In terms of classmates, all Hansard Scholars live together and study together. Our classes are with one another, so meeting each other and hanging out has been very easy. We often do social activities outside of class and have gotten to know each other very well. The only area where we all have separate field is in our internships. Moreover, this has helped us have some time away from each other to have individual experiences abroad, in addition to our many group outings.
