Field Trips, Museums, and Landmarks

In Florence, there is so many different things to see and I think my personal favorite museum so far is the Uffizi Gallery. It has a lot of famous work from Botticelli and more works from artists that were new to me. The gallery itself is beautiful, there are many sculptures around the hallways and a great view of the city on the top of the museum. Also, in terms of landmarks, I will say Ponte Vecchio is my favorite. It has a great view of the water and during sunset it’s a stunning landscape. I’ve been on multiple class field trips on my time here. Usually, everyday in my Palaces of Florence course, we start with some lecture then move to go outside and look at these palaces in person. We study their architecture, use, as well as the people that lived in them. It’s truly a unique course and I’m so glad I’m able to experience something like this that is so cultural and far from what I would usually be doing in classes on campus.
