Getting comfortable
We are staying at a nice, cozy hotel called ‘Hotel Ibis’ in eastern Paris. It is in a convenient location because it is a 4-minute walk from the metro station, which we use to get to the heart of the city. It is also right next to a huge shopping center that has many restaurants and beautiful shops. Everything you need is right there! Every morning we all look forward to the delicious breakfast that is served in the hotel’s dining room. Breakfast consists of a buffet of freshly made croissants and baguettes, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, cereal, and much more! There’s no better feeling than eating as much as you want before you start the busy day. Unfortunately, We will be leaving Hotel Ibis and Paris as we depart for Annecy soon. It will be sad to leave what has been our base for the past few days!
It has been super easy getting to meet other students in the group. We do a lot of walking together, especially during the day when we have different tours, and you will easily find yourself walking next to a different person each time! Additionally, when it’s time for lunch we split up and have lunch in smaller groups before we all meet up at a certain location as a larger group. What is interesting is that no small group ever stays the same; you will definitely find yourself having lunch with a different group of people than you did the day before! These are good times to talk to someone you haven’t really spoken to previously, and to bond with your fellow classmates. It always amazes me how much people tend to have in common.
Only a week has gone by and I feel like I know everyone on this dialogue quite well. I am excited to get to know them even better as the dialogue progresses!
