Landmarks and Games

My favorite landmark in Lyon is the Parc de la Tete d’Or. It is pretty famous here in Lyon, but I didn’t know about it until a week or so into the program. The park is located just down the street from my residence, less than a ten-minute walk away and it is massive. Inside the park there is a zoo, a lake, a botanical garden, and so much more. Most days now I’ll go for a run there either before or after school. There are always a lot of other people exercising there as well. On the weekends there are a ton of families who visit the park for the zoo and carousel. The landscaping is beautiful and there is so much to see that it is very easy to spend a lot of time there.

A Breakfast Bagel before school in Lyon

Today as a class, the students participated in a murder mystery game in town. I really enjoyed the activity because I was able to explore a part of the city I had not yet visited. As part of the game, we learned about some of the history of Lyon and the silk industry that used to exist. I though the game was a really fun activity and was more engaging than a regular tour would have been! I really appreciate this being set up for us as it introduced us to a new part of the city as well as showed us some of its history!
