LSE – Housing and Classmates
When booking accommodation through LSE, there were a dozen options for LSE residences around London, most within a couple miles of campus. Some offered closer distances, some extra amenities, but I chose one that was recommended by two friends who did the LSE Summer School before: Rosebery Hall. It is a fairly nice dorm, somewhat old but it has its charm. The room I got was a single furnished with necessities and a sink. Breakfast is included too for all of the LSE dorms which is a big plus. My favorite part about this accommodation however is how easy it is to meet people and make friends. Whether it’s in the hallways, the cozy common area converted from an old bar, or the breakfast area. Almost everyone is there for LSE’s summer school and is also new to the city, so finding people to hang out with and go into the city is no problem.
Apart from meeting people in the residence, it is equally as easy on campus. Classes are divided into a large three hour lecture and a small hour and a half recitation. LSE also provides a bunch of events for students to get to know each other as well, from an introductory meet and greet, to tickets for field trips to places like Stonehenge and Bath, and much more.
