Meals in France are very different from meals in the US. Concerning meal times, I tend to eat Breakfast later than usual. At home, I have breakfast early in the morning, but in France I usually eat around 11. Since our classes are later in the day, I eat lunch in between the two which is at three o’clock. When I cook myself dinner, I eat around eight o’clock however if I go out to dinner with my friends, it tends to be an hour or so later than that. This has been an adjustment for me as I prefer to eat meals earlier at home. Also, the meals themselves are quite different. In general, a lot of the food contains ham, bread, and cheese. The portions are smaller than at home, especially the beverages. I try to eat in a variety of places so I can try as much food here as possible. I tend to make breakfast at home most days, however once a week or so we go to a café or go get crepes. For Lunch, I either pick up a sandwich on the way to school from a café, or I go across the street from school and get a sandwich or a quiche. For dinner, my friends and I like to walk around and find restaurants to try. We have had French, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and even American styled food. As delicious as the food is, I like to cook my own dinners because I’m usually pretty hungry by the end of the day.

I’m a pretty picky eater so I tend to order foods I know I will like. The most delicious food I have had was a Pizza in Vienne, France. The most interesting food was a crepe with egg and cheese probably, because I had never tried a savory crepe before, but it was delicious! I’m really excited to travel on my weekends, and try more foods from other countries!
