Most Memorable Few Weeks of My Life
I’ve wanted to study abroad since before college (honestly I have). My sister recently graduated college and mentioned that her biggest regret was not being able to take advantage of opportunities to travel presented by her university. She urged me to make any and all efforts to study abroad. Through this experience, I expect to gain a greater appreciation for other cultures and be able to gain insight on the way we differ from other countries, especially in terms of our healthcare system. One of my goals abroad is to do something I’ve never done before, which includes meeting new people, enjoying new foods, and exploring historical sites and partaking in the customs and traditions of London. While I will be going on this Dialogue with my friends and fellow nursing students, I want to become familiar with those in the group who I am not as acquainted with and create long term bonds with them. In order to do this, I have to force myself out of my comfort zone. I mean this in the sense that things I would be afraid to do in America, like eating ethnic foods or embarking on adventurous journeys, would be done without question abroad. I want this trip to bring out parts of me that I’ve never seen before, so I guess I’m most looking forward to making these next four weeks the best and most memorable few weeks of my life.
