The City is Your Playground
Since being in Denmark, no major holidays have occurred. However, in October there was an event called Kulturnatten in Copenhagen. The name means “culture night,” and Copenhagen has celebrated it for a little over 20 years. Like the name suggests, the event celebrates culture around Copenhagen. That night, many museums, libraries, universities, theaters, music venues, and churches host events open to the public.
One of the most interesting events I’ve gone to was a huge salsa dance. The dance was held in an old manufacturing warehouse in Copenhagen. In one huge huge room there was a dance floor and a DJ playing salsa and bachata music. In another smaller area, there was room to dance kizomba. In Copenhagen, there always seems to be some event happening if you’re willing to go out and find it.
