The illogical image that I refer to in the title is presented above…well, to be exact this is the map of the Parisian metro system and if you were able to find any logic in those lines then you are probably the navigation genius. What do I mean by logic? Well, maybe connecting it with a little life belt as Muscovites did?
You might trace a little element of homesickness (even though I’m not from Moscow) in that comparison, but I must repeat to myself yet again that this is not better. Not worse. Just different. The little mantra I’ve been taught by the FLEX program orientation leaders when I was going on a year long exchange to the US, the mantra that I will never in my life forget.
Well, but being honest Paris has an absolutely wonderful transportation system. The metro can take you almost anywhere you want and even though it closes around 1:30 am, there are always night buses available for those who are trying to come back home late at night. Paris never sleeps. And that is actually true. I took the night bus around two times so far and both times it was full of intoxicated, happy and loud college students.
