Transportation in Seville
Every day to get to and from class, I start by taking the bus. There are a few different bus lines that I can take into center of Seville, two of which have stops right outside of my residence. The bus takes about 15 minutes to reach the city center. The buses are all air conditioned (a necessity when the temperature reaches high 90’s!) and very clean but can often be quite crowded as they are a popular form of transportation. It costs about 1.40 euros for a ride and costs only about half that if you buy a transportation card. After the bus ride, it’s another 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop to where I take my classes, but the most important part is the cafe I get my coffee from every morning!
Another amazing option for transportation that Seville has is a bike rental program called “Sevici”. For 13 euros per month, you can take a bike out from any of their hundreds of locations throughout the city for a half hour at a time, as many times as you want. Seville is equipped with with one of the most extensive bike lane systems in the world making biking around the city super easy, accessible, and safe.
