A typical day starts off with waking up for breakfast between 8 and 9 depending on what time class starts. We eat breakfast at the hostel which consists of lunch meats, cheese, bread, cucumbers, yogurt, granola, and cereal.

Breakfast

Then, off to the school. From the first hostel, it took about 20 minutes to walk to the school, but from the second hostel it takes about 50 minutes. At the school, we would start with everyone getting coffee or tea and then onto the lecture. We break during the lectures to ensure that everyone stayed awake. The lectures start around 9 and end around 12.

After the lecture, we stop for lunch. I usually brought a sandwich that I made during breakfast while others would buy food at the canteen. If there was enough time after eating, we would go to the game room and play PlayStation, foosball, or pool. Once the lunch break was over we would typically go somewhere to learn more about the Icelandic economy such as a tourist or fishing company.

After that excursion was over we would either go back to the hostel for dinner or stay downtown, explore, and find a restaurant to eat at. Afterwards, I would look over the material learned in class that day, chill in the lobby and talk to others, or look at the pictures I’d taken.
