Under and Over Ground in London

London has a great public transit system. There are two train lines, the Underground and the Over ground, as well a bus system that can get you to almost anywhere in London. The trains are fast and frequent, so there is never an issue of overcrowding. Although we are provided free transportation, one con for locals is that there is not a flat fair rate for the train- you pay depending on how far you have traveled. Train stops are bracketed into zones, and you pay based on how many zones you have passed through. Thus, it is essential to never lose your card, as you need it to exit the train stations or you will receive a fine. The buses, which are bigger and more frequent than those back home, are mostly double-deckers, so you can enjoy a great view as your traveling.
