Week 4 – Typical Day

Because I’m at Singapore for only 1 month. I have to take two 4-hour classes. Thankfully, these classes usually run a bit shorter than advertised, and the classes meet every other day. This ends up being similar to a summer term at Northeastern without Fridays off time-wise.

Depending on the day, I wake up in the morning and grab a quick snack at the food court, or I wake up around lunch time and eat lunch. After eating, I head straight to class and arrive right on time or slightly late due to the bus taking a bit longer than expected. I prefer to be right on time with things, which doesn’t always work out.

Weekends are similar, but instead of going to class I head out to the city. I always spend at least a half hour to plan what I’m doing and where I’m going. I have to make sure I don’t run out of things to do or waste too much time moving back and forth around the city.

I’m always walking around looking at things or finding new things to do. Many events get posted on Reddit, and Meetup always has something to do on a Saturday. I have to admit I don’t often hang out with my friends in the exchange program on weekends, but I guess it’s because how I do things are a little less conventional than usual. I’m no fan of the bar life here; it not great too be honest.

One thing I always do is eat at a local food court for dinner (on weekends). The food is absolutely phenomenal, and this doesn’t even account for the low price tags. I would have to find the good courts, however, so I would be popping up Google Maps every time and walking an extra 10 minutes just to get some quality food.
