Mount Fuji

Ever since I was a little kid, I enjoyed learning and exploring new cultures but never knew how to do so besides reading books and watching T.V shows. When I discovered Northeastern University offered Dialogue of Civilization opportunities, I applied to one on a whim. I am a biology major with a minor in Chinese so applying for a program to learn political science in Japan might seem crazy to some people but I have yet to regret it!
I am super excited to just hop on the plane and am counting off the days till I do! Although, I admit that I am a bit nervous about the classes and lectures I will be attending. As someone with little knowledge of political science, I worry about not understanding the material that will be taught. I hope that by the end of the dialogue, I would be able to learn as much as possible (and hopefully fall in love with the topic).

Aside from schoolwork, I am most excited about exploring Japan’s culture (and yes, this includes food as well!). I have even made a list of food to eat: such as takoyaki, taiyaki, dango, soba, the list goes on and on! Of course what I’m more excited for than food exploration (gasp!), is meeting new people and creating new memories and experiences.
