A Typical Day in Lisbon

During the weekday (depending on the day) I either wake up at 7am or 8am. I get ready for school and usually have a light breakfast consisting of a piece of fruit and some yogurt. The Portuguese aren’t big on breakfast, and if they eat it’s usually a piece of bread or some sort of pastry and a coffee. After, I proceed to leave for school. I used to be able to take the metro to school which was located right outside of my apartment, but now that I live in another part of Lisbon I must take the bus to school every morning. Usually after my first class I grab a bite to eat with a couple of classmates before heading to my other classes. My school day usually ends around 4:30pm most days. After class I head home to take a nap and then proceed to do my homework until dinner time. In Portugal, the Portuguese do dinner late. Most days I eat between 8:30pm-9:30pm. After dinner, which usually lasts about an 1hr-1 ½ (the Portuguese love to talk about their day and gossip), I will finish my homework if need be or watch some TV in the living room.

Sunset

This is a typical day for me in Portugal. However there are many days when I go out to dinner with friends or after dinner at home I may go out Bairro Alto to meet up with friends for a late night party session!
