Travel and Safety Secrets for Japan

One of the greatest thing about Japan is the fact that it is safe. I have come across no safety issues here in Japan. There is a reason why Tokyo is one of the safest cities in the world. The honesty policy is upheld and trusted. The police don’t carry a gun and there is no worry to lose any unattended item. To take a case in point, one of my friends left his expensive GoPro camera on the train. To his surprise, when he arrived at the train station 2 hours later to inquire about it, the GoPro was there as someone turned it in. There is no reason to worry here in Japan.
There are a lot of traveler secrets that I learned so far. First of all, it is recommended to not spend money at touristy areas because the prices are much higher there than the more local areas. Another important secret is to get tissue packets off advertiser on the street. There is no reason to buy tissues when they are handed out for free on the streets. Lastly, buying 2L water bottles from your local convenience store is the cheapest way to stay hydrated. At 98 Yen a pop, it’s a steal!
